13 Advertising Tips: Some really good tips which are fairly simple and useful. Read on. Many of them from the perspective of a copywriter. But some very basic thoughts and ideas will help any marketer. I have not copied the tips from the
ad-rag site, but I have marked my comments on a few of the tips as given in this article.
Tip 1: This might just be an overkill sometime! Familiarity breeds in the beginning. But breeds comtempt sooner than later!
Tip 2: I particularly like the 100 to 1 Rule, if you can find as many.
Tip 3: My experience is on the other side. If the organisation is particularly not doing well, then it would make more sense not to have the press talk anything about your organisation. I am sure one would agree that there be ‘no press’ rather than ‘bad press’.
Tip 9: This is a concept which is prevalent in every advertising house. My first advertising experience was in Lintas (what is now LOWE, India). The grind that one goes through there on this particular pointer is phenomenal. This is a required process for clarity of what is required and what is to be achieved!
Tip 10: Of course a customer is not going to take pains to reach you unless there is a need for him to. So making it easy for the customer reach you in as many ways as possible helps.
Tip 13: If you don’t keep asking for a sale, no one will buy unless they have a dire need for it. A salesman’s job (at least predominantly) is to convince the buyer of a need which might or might not be there!
